Our customer is a global player in personal care products with Australian manufacturing and strategically placed distribution centres. With more than 60 pallets per hour needing to be wrapped during peak, and the application of the film critical as to not damage the customers goods, they searched high and far for the best equipment for their application.
FROMM Packaging installed two FSW50 Pallet Wrapping Machines. The stand alone systems when placed back to back allowed easy interaction with warehouse staff and could easily accommodate the 160 pallet per day output requirement.
Our customer is a 3PL Distribution Facility for a major provider of alcohol. They needed a way to double throughput without relying on extra staff to move pallets. The stretch wrapping station needed to accommodate a wide range of pallet heights and styles such as fragile loads, mixed loads and tall loads.
FROMM Packaging engineered new automated strap dispensers and moved to super jumbo strapping coils reducing downtime and injury risks between each coil change. The strap remains on the transport pallet and placed onto a turntable that then feeds the strap to the strapping machines as needed.
FROMM engineered a solution where by the strapping would be equalised around the large pallet to give consistent tension. After strapping the pallet moves to the new wrapping area. Light loads such as empty cans require the stretch film to be stretched at predetermined settings to ensure it doesn’t create a pulling drag and destabilise the pallet.
Our customer produces around 15 pallets of milk powder per day. The product is placed in 25KG sacks and put on the pallet via a robot. The customer would wrap each pallet by hand but due to export requirements, weight, WH&S requirements and type of perishable goods, it was proving to be a very labour-intensive process. Powdered milk is a high value commodity and our customer needed to be confident of the load containment process.
Our customer is Australia’s largest producers of sawn timber products and historically strapped timber by hand changing from steal to polyester. FROMM created a new faster process to not only strap the timber packs but automate the coil handling and coil storage.
We were contacted by an OEM to engineer a pallet wrapping solution for crates of milk. The customer wanted to stretch wrap up to 50 pallets for milk per hour coming out of their processing, and then transitioning into cold storage after wrapping.
Plywood is an oversized material usually packaged in two lengths either 2.4 or 3m. Our customer wanted to automate the wrapping process and speed up throughput by allowing forklift staff to load the plywood onto the wrapping machine, apply a top sheet and the stretch film needed to be applied automatically and wrap to pre agreed patterns.
